Ansel Adams (1902-1984)

Ansel Adams was both a photographer and environmentalist. Adams is best known for popularizing the National Park System (Particularly Yosemite National Park) through his black-and-white photographs of the American West.  Adams developed the zone system, a way to determine proper exposure and adjust the contrast of the final print. Adams was one of the founding members of Group f.64 .

Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976)

Cunningham is well known for her sharply focused large format photographs of flora, nudes, dancers, and landscapes.  Although she began her work as a Pictorialist, she later became a member of the original F.64 group. Cunningham married the etcher, Roi Partridge who appears in much of her work as do her three sons. One of her sons, Ron Partridge, printed her work for the Imogen Cunningham trust. She lived in San Francisco, and much of her floral work came from her own garden.

C. Michael Gibson (1959-present)

Gibson has been a fine art photographer for many years now. He works in medium format with a Hasselbald and in large 8 X 10 format with a Sinar in the studio, or a Kodak Masterview or Deardorff when traveling. On some trips he will take his 4 X 5 Graflex or Linhoff.
