The f.64 & More Gallery is dedicated to preserving the traditions of straight, analog, film based photography.
f.64 was a goup of photographers dating to the 1930s whose membership according to Ansel Adams should be limited to "those workers who are striving to define photography as an art form by a simple and direct presentation through purely photographic methods." f.64 is a lense opening (an aperture) that provides the highest resolution and depth of field and the name was chosen because the members of the group were dedicated to the clear, authentic, sharply defined image.
Prints at f.64 and more conform to this broadly concieved notion of photographic art. Vintage prints, later prints, estate prints, museum show prints from the original negative and press prints from the original negative of Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, Tina Modotti, Brett Weston, and Edward Weston are available through the gallery. Prints from Farm Security Administration (FSA) photographers such as Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans are also available. Prints from emerging artists are also available. C. Michael Gibson is an emerging fine art photographer located outside of Boston MA. His first one man museum show will begin December 4th, 2009 at the University of New Mexico Health Scineces Museum Gallery.
Please contact the gallery at 508-816-1498 or email the gallery at smarble@perfuse.org to arrange a sitting or to arrange a viewing of any of the artists' work.
